Daniel Sambo-Richter
III
Daniel Sambo-Richter’s works range from figurative and abstract painting to sculpture and installations. The series »Space of Possibilities« is an abstract vision of the internal maze of human thought. The large canvases feature vivid combinations of color intersecting to create a visual process of an intangible thought in its path to germination.¶
Experiences in the GDR, conflict with the Soviet Union and a personal confrontation with National Socialism led Daniel to begin the Series, »German Fragments«. The portraits are of a variety of subjects from the Third Reich era: athletes, actors, opportunists, victims and the resistance.•
he painter in his studio, absolutely surrounded
by color, was our first and obvious choice. But also because of the physical movement of the brush against canvas. The German painter occupies a unique position in the teutonic mythology of Germany as the perfect synthesis of »Dichter und Denker«¶
